By now you've probably heard: The GOP is becoming too regional, too white, too old to compete at a national level. Democrats look like a merging of the cast of "Rent" and Up With People, while Republicans look like diehard fans of "Matlock" and "Murder, She Wrote."
Fine, fine. The GOP needs to win over more Hispanics, young people, suburban women. That sounds perfectly plausible. But what does "win over" mean?

A four-month old puppy that goes by the name 'Ears' is seen in Lima November 10, 2008. Peruvians crazy about their national dog the Peruvian Hairless Dog, a bald and often toothless breed popular among Incan kings, offered on Monday to send a hypoallergenic puppy to the Obama family.

So, this is my first LJ post. I'm sure it will be incredibly lame.
I've felt motivated after this election to keep some sort of journal, or have somewhere to place my thoughts. They'd never tell me, but I have a feeling friends and family are getting a little annoyed by me.
I am obviously a conservative. Not to be confused with being a Republican. I'm not quite sure which party I would properly identify with. Certainly out of the two major parties, I side with the Republicans more than not. But they don't always impress me.
There is a great quote that sums up my ideology:
"The conservative or classical liberal vision understands that life is unfair, that man is flawed, and that the only perfect society, the only real utopia, waits for us in the next life."

I'm a frequent reader of Michelle Malkin's blog and listen to Rush and Glenn Beck whenever possible. (I'm not a huge fan of cable news these days, regardless of the network. ) So, I will probably post some things I get from them.
I don't really have a clue how LJ works. So, if anyone ever does drop by here, please bear with me as I learn my way around!
